Workflow Audit: the number before the software.

Workflow Audit: the number before the software.

One workflow mapped as it actually runs, the leak measured in hours and dollars, a 90-day automation plan and a business case with a payback estimate. Ten business days. $4,950 inc GST.

Bring one repetitive workflow. We’ll tell you what to measure and whether an audit makes sense. No charge, no deck.

WORKFLOW AUDIT · $4,950 INC GST · TEN BUSINESS DAYS.

WHO IT IS FOR

You know one process is eating margin. You want the number first.

Owners and partners who can name the workflow that hurts: quoting, intake, renewals, compliance checks, the job that gets re-keyed three times. You suspect it costs more than it should, you are tired of software pitches, and you want a hard number and a plan before you spend on either.

Measure first. Build only what pays for itself.

Most AI projects start with the technology and fail. Ours start with the work. The audit tells you what one workflow costs today, what it would return rebuilt and what to leave alone. If the return justifies it, we build. If it doesn’t, you keep the map and the plan and we tell you so.

THE NUMBER BEFORE THE SOFTWARE

WHAT YOU GET

Four things, in ten days.

The workflow as it actually runs, what it costs, what to do about it and what it would be worth. One document, one call to walk it through.

01 · THE MAP

The workflow mapped as it actually runs.

Every step, hand-off and exception, drawn from the people who do it, not from the procedure manual nobody follows.

02 · THE LEAK

What it costs you today, in hours and dollars.

Time per instance, instances per week, loaded cost per hour and the error and rework rate. A number you can defend to a partner or a board.

03 · THE PLAN

A 90-day automation plan.

What to build, what to buy, what to leave alone and why, in the order that returns money fastest.

04 · THE BUSINESS CASE

A payback estimate you can take to a partner or a board.

Hours returned, margin recovered, build cost and payback period, on one page. A forecast, clearly labelled. The receipt comes after delivery, when the numbers are measured.

HOW IT RUNS

Ten business days, start to finish.

Day 1, a 30-minute kickoff where you name the workflow and the people who run it. Days 2 to 7, we sit with those people, watch the work happen and pull the numbers from your systems.

Day 10, the audit is on your desk and we walk you through it on a call. If the return justifies a build, we scope it there. If it doesn’t, you keep the map and the plan.

A WORKED EXAMPLE

What the audit looks like when it lands on your desk.

An anonymised business case from a professional services firm: one intake form completed 28 times a week, 1.4 hours each. Figures are illustrative and the firm is not named.

01 · THE MAP

The workflow as it ran.

Nine steps across three people and two systems, with four exception paths nobody had written down.

02 · THE ASSUMPTIONS

How we measured it.

Time per form from observation, volume from the practice system, loaded cost per hour from payroll, error rate from rework logs.

03 · CASH AND CAPACITY

What was actually recoverable.

Cash cost removed and capacity released shown separately. Capacity only counts when it has somewhere billable to go.

04 · THE COSTS

Build, software and running cost.

Fixed build fee, third-party licences, review and maintenance, stated as a twelve-month total.

05 · PAYBACK

The range, not a point.

Payback estimated as a range against conservative and expected volume, with the assumptions that move it.

06 · THE CALL

Build, or do not build.

A recommendation. In this example, build. In others, the recommendation is to leave it alone, and we say so.

WHO OWNS WHAT

Yours, ours, and what happens if we part ways.

You own your data, documents, templates, prices, firm-specific rules and configuration, and you keep the right to run what we built in your business if we ever part ways, hosted in your tenancy or handed over with documentation. The audit itself is yours outright, to use with anyone.

N+1 owns the code and the reusable components, and may license a generalised version to other businesses. That is the basis of our fee, and it is why you share in the licence revenue: we aim for a 50/50 share. Nothing that identifies you, your clients, your prices or your rules is ever included.

FAQS

FAQs

CHOOSING

Which workflow should we pick?

The one your best people complain about. High volume, repetitive, with judgement calls that currently live in someone’s head. If you are not sure, the 20-minute call settles it.

YOUR TIME

What do you need from us?

Access to three or four people who do the work, two to three hours each across the first week, and read access to the systems the workflow touches. No preparation, no slide decks.

OBLIGATION

Do we have to build with you afterwards?

No. The audit is complete in itself and the map, the cost model and the plan are yours to act on with anyone. Most clients build with us because the people who measured the work are best placed to fix it.

COST

What does it cost and what is excluded?

$4,950 inc GST, fixed and paid up front. It excludes software licences and integration costs, which the plan quotes separately so you can see them before any build.

OUTCOME

What happens if the answer is do not build?

You keep the map, the cost model and the plan, and we tell you why. A clear no is a result.

OUTPUT

Is this just a consulting report?

No. It is a map drawn from watching the work, a cost model built from your numbers and a build plan we are prepared to deliver and be measured on. Reports describe. Receipts commit.
